Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of a small but growing and crucial Finance department at Boulevard. Top candidates are capable of seeing projects through to completion with minimal oversight. You have incredible proficiency in Excel and other Business Intelligence software. You are capable of drawing insights and building recommendations from your findings, and you have the ability to work closely across all departments within the company.

What You'll Do Here

    • Work directly with Finance and Accounting leadership to develop and iterate on detailed monthly and quarterly forecasts
    • Work closely with the CFO and leadership across all departments to create and maintain annual department budgets
    • Assist Accounting on the month-end close process, including analysis of journal entries and variance analysis
    • Lead the preparation of financials supporting Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews
    • Prepare/review monthly forecast variance reports by business unit, and investigate significant or unusual variances for incorporation into monthly forecasts
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business and proactively engage with partners to support the business
    • Demonstrate strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills for executive audiences
    • Evaluate current processes, make and execute recommendations for enhancements
    • Partner with leaders across the business in cross-functional projects and ad-hoc financial analyses to ideate, develop, and operationalize strategies and initiatives
    • Understand our data sources and dashboards by working with our Analytics group to ensure clean data feeds into various financial models. Automate financial views for quick reporting turnaround.

What You'll Need to Thrive

    • Experience: 4-7 years of experience
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Preferably in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or Accounting)
    • SaaS Experience: Experience with software company KPIs; preferably SaaS companies
    • BI Tools: Superior knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Eg. Host Analytics, Tableau, Compeat, Looker, ERP/EPM experience)
    • Self Starter: Ability to independently drive projects; motivated to learn all aspects of our business
    • Expert Communicator: Great communication skills, well organized, strong project management skills, ability to multitask and be a team player
    • BONUS POINTS for prior experience at a startup

Within 1 Month You'll...

    • Meet with leadership to gain an understanding of companywide operations
    • Study and understand the company’s historical financial results and current budget and forecast
    • Meet with the data team to understand sources of data and how that data is structured
    • Study and pass the company platform test

Within 3 Months You'll...

    • Work with the departments you support to create a review cycle for budget to actual results
    • Work with others in Finance to create a budget and forecast schedule
    • Begin working with specific departments to dive deep into their KPIs

Within 6 Months You'll...

    • Continue working with leadership across the company on KPI improvement
    • Develop a regular cadence for delivery of KPI data
    • Work with accounting leadership to find ways to improve the speed and accuracy of department-specific financial analysis
