WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Ripjar develops sophisticated data analysis and visualisation software capable of analysing large amounts of data at scale using cutting edge machine learning analytics.

We're looking for experienced, highly motivated Data Engineers to develop, test and support our data-intensive software products and systems.

You will have a proven track record in developing data-intensive systems and processing pipelines. You will be proficient in at least one programming language, preferably Python. You will be comfortable with a full range of relevant technologies, including databases, search engines, messaging systems and distributed systems. You will have strong theoretical knowledge and a deep understanding of the mechanics underpinning the technologies you apply. You will have a good appreciation of software design principles and the software development lifecycle, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment using agile development methods. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with engineering teams and stakeholders.


As a Data Engineer you will:-

  • Develop, test, and support data-intensive software products and processing pipelines.
  • Work with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to support the efficient analysis of data at scale and take new analytics and models into production.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Ripjar’s large-scale data processing technology stack.
  • Work with the Delivery team to provide second line and deep support to customers of Ripjar's data processing capabilities.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python.
  • Significant experience designing, implementing and supporting data-intensive systems and data processing pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and the ability to develop and support software running in Linux environments.
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop or other Big Data technologies.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.


Bonus Technical Skills/Experience

  • Experience with any of Elasticsearch, Kafka, MongoDB, Node.js and Redis.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience or knowledge of Machine Leaning or Data Science
