About the Role

The Data Insights & Strategy Analyst is a highly visible role in the fastest growing marketplace for outdoor camping & experiences in Australia. This role is a key part of the country management team and is responsible for helping crack the most important global and regional strategic growth and operational opportunities for Hipcamp’s second largest market.

This position will offer a candidate with consulting, investment banking, data analytics or marketplace experience an exciting and high-profile opportunity to influence the trajectory of a significant portion of Hipcamp’s global growth. You will interact with Hipcamp’s senior leadership team, and lead global data analytics projects with interaction across operations and cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision making.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Data Analytics you will be the regional business partner to the General Manager Australia to drive strategic and operational decision making to support the growth of Hipcamp Australia.

In this role, you will explore and articulate actionable insights that will unlock the growth of our business. You will be responsible for analysing the product performance, operations and marketplace health, defining new metrics to help the company operate, and delivering strategic insights to the company. You’ll work to democratise data to everyone in the company to help them make faster, smarter decisions.

Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and review regional business performance, market trends through data-lead actionable insights (e.g., sales performance, team productivity and growth marketing investments) and flag risks to our marketplace health.
    • Play a key role in supporting the culture of data-driven decision making across Hipcamp.
    • Working closely with your global colleagues in data analytics, you help scale and level-up the data insights and analytics capabilities across the business.
    • Manage projects with regional and global impact. (e.g. GTM strategy, process improvement, dashboard development for KPI monitoring).
    • Support regional operations including business forecasting, pipeline analysis, and monthly business reviews.
    • Play a pivotal role in our strategic planning by providing data-driven insights supporting financial planning, go-to-market strategy, territory planning, market segmentation or target setting.
    • Become the subject matter expert and country lead on business and market intelligence.
    • Develop and maintain strong global and cross-functional relationships with operations, product, engineering, data analytics, finance and marketing teams.
    • Gain direct exposure to senior leadership, including the opportunity to present insights/recommendations to executives and global operations teams.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Advanced SQL knowledge
    • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business operations, or similar analytical/strategic role

Nice to Have's:

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets: expertise in data analysis and financial modelling
    • Ability to leverage numbers and insights to drive sound decision making
    • Strong organisational skills and extremely high attention to detail
    • Comfortable with ambiguity: ability to take a high-level question, break down an approach, build a work plan, and execute
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently interact with colleagues at multiple levels

Compensation will be a mix of salary and stock options. It is based on your location and will be highly competitive compared to similar-stage companies.
