Description

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Work closely with other members of CA’s Data Science team to create robust and scalable visualizations, models, and web applications
• Interface with CA’s leadership team to understand, build, and deploy Data Science solutions that are critical to CA’s service organization
• Carefully document code and processes throughout the development process
• Identify opportunities to use emerging data science technologies to push forward CA’s ability to serve educators and students

Required job skills:

• Experience in all aspects of machine learning model development, including dataset development, feature engineering, parameter tuning, and model evaluation using Python or similar object-oriented programming language
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience using data visualization libraries like matplotlib, D3.js, or ggplot2
• Experience building ETL pipelines and/or web services using Python or similar object-oriented programming language
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

• An understanding of recommendation systems or other neural network-based prediction systems
• Experience with NLP techniques and/or text-based transformer models
• Experience using Docker and/or Linux command-line tools
• Experience using Git or similar source control tools

Minimum qualifications:

• Passion for understanding and solving complex business problems using data
• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or similar degree with two or more years of experience in a technical role

Preferred qualifications:

MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or technical field with 1-2 years of experience in a technical role or Ph.D. in relevant quantitative field
