YOUR ROLE
Bold Penguin is seeking a Data Scientist who will be responsible for the end-to-end development of models using various modeling approaches ranging from statistical techniques, to machine learning and deep learning. This includes taking high-level business challenges, translating them into a concrete quantitative framework, and shepherding solutions from R&D into production.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own the entire Machine Learning (ML) development process from data collection, model development, and results presentation to production.
Design and implement ML algorithms and techniques using data analytics, text analytics, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Collect or extract data from different sources, processing, cleaning and validating for further use.
Periodically test and retrain ML/AI models to adapt the best model for problem statements.
Collaborate with the development team to put models into production and monitor for performance.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in various NLP tasks including text extraction, entity extraction, refining existing NER models, and documenting understanding.
Strong programming skills with experience using modern packages in Python, and platforms including Amazon SageMaker, H2O, and others.
Knowledge of computer vision, object detection with deep learning preferred.
Must have a graduate degree in Mathematics, Science or Computer Science/Engineering.
Must have at least 3 years experience working as a data scientist in a fast-paced, highly iterative and highly collaborative team.
Bonus Qualifications:
Bonus points for Insurtech background or commercial insurance experience!
