Oceans represent two-thirds of the Earth’s surface and have an understated role to play in the future of our life on Earth. Coastlines that were once abundant ecosystems and thriving communities are now closer to empty wastelands facing ecologic and economic collapse. At Running Tide, we have experienced this firsthand, and we know the problem won't solve itself. That’s why we are building technologies to accelerate and scale the most impactful restorative processes naturally at work in the ocean. We are building a climate positive future by harnessing the power of the ocean.

About the Role
Our team is looking for hands-on, individual contributor computer vision engineers at all experience levels. Our proprietary hardware generates highly tuned image data in coastal and open ocean settings, creating unique challenges for our data team. Work within a small, talented team to motivate and build improvements and new capabilities into our system.

What We're Looking For

    • Formally trained in math, computer science, or a related mathematical science
    • Be self motivated in asking and answering questions with unique data sets
    • Excited to help build a cutting edge development platform from the ground to scale in an emerging industry
    • Enjoy tinkering with systems to constantly be improving and simplifying them
    • You are capable of creative and independent technical work
    • Motivated by contextualizing your work into an overall mission; proactive about revisiting that context to inform priorities
    • Entry Level - Have project or internship experience in computer vision modeling
    • Experienced - Have worked in a collaborative commercial production environment building machine vision models
    • Senior - Have designed computer vision solutions and managed data teams at a world class technology firm

At Running Tide, we develop new technologies that scale and accelerate the naturally restorative benefits of shellfish and kelp to rebuild food systems, remove excess carbon and restore coastal ecosystems. Our teams operate with utmost persistence. We are tackling the world’s most difficult and important problems, and we are unwavering in our motivation to find a solution. At our core, we are innovators driven to do "more good" rather than "less bad" in the world.

Running Tide is committed to building a diverse team, bringing as many possible perspectives to bear on the unprecedented challenges facing our planet. We are committed to building an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds  can come to do their best work.
