Vendr is seeking a Sr. Data Specialist for IT / Security / Compliance to help Vendr become the world’s top authority on everything related to SaaS products in these categories. In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping Vendr make transformational changes in the way companies Find, Buy, and Manage SaaS. This person will be an early member of a skilled and passionate team and will play a key role in defining the future of our ability to delight customers. You will join a rapidly growing innovation team focused on moving quickly, learning, and iterating.

What you'll do:

• Own the data for these categories — At the end of the day, this is the most critical item. We want someone who can truly own the data for the categories and ensure that data is trustworthy and actionable.

• Leverage first hand experience with relevant software to inform data set improvements.

• Identify, communicate, and lead the resolution of data gaps that impede the fulfillment of customer and operational objectives.

• Incorporate data sets from various sources to enhance our catalog’s overall effectiveness.

• Define, monitor, and help refine metrics to validate the efficacy of our approach.

• Meet in person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities.

• Establish best practices and guidelines around how we classify and represent the right software for a given customer’s business.

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members from engineering, product, and operations to ensure our catalog of SaaS products enjoys a state of continuous improvement.

• Manage a team of data analysts to facilitate constant data cleansing and improvements.

• Represent Vendr internally and externally, to customers and to the overall business marketplace, as an expert in the SaaS offerings within your industry focus.

What we need:

• First hand experience in IT, Compliance, or Security a must - this includes purchasing, deploying and/or managing relevant software (5+ years experience)
• Technical experience as follows:
  • SQL (2 years)
  • Data analysis and/or engineering (3-5 years)
  • Python or similar (1-2 years)
  • Tableau (2 years)

• Experience with leading suppliers in IT / Security / Compliance categories
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for reading research.
• Demonstrated success in delivering results working cross-functionally
