Director, Business Intelligence

Alma is seeking a mission-driven Director, BI to launch our Business Intelligence team. Reporting to our CFO, and working closely with the finance, data, marketing and operations teams, the role will consolidate the existing embedded analysts into one team. This position help will optimize data reporting and insights to help build the foundation for real-time, actionable insights to take our company to the next level. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and executives across the company. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in a hyper-growth startup and thrives working in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:

• Drive the vision and execution of the BI team and roadmap
• Partner company-wide to build a data governance structure to assure data integrity, prioritization, and consistency across the organization 
• Lead and expand a team of embedded analysts across multiple teams.
• Responsible for development and implementation of dashboards and visualizations to deliver real time data for actionable decisions
• Comfortable moving between strategic decision making and detailed technical analysis
• Monitor external business and market trends to inform BI strategy

Who you are:

• You have 10+ years of analytical experience with complex data analysis and strategic insights, largely in a hyper growth startup
• You have experience building and leading a high performance analytics team
• You are a data driven story teller with strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex analysis for various levels of stakeholders
• You are an expert in BI tools, especially Looker
• You have SQL experience and are comfortable using SQL on a regular basis in your work
• You are passionate about instituting new processes and implementing the latest technology in a fast paced, data-driven environment

Salary Band: $179,000 - $206,000
