The Director, Data & Analytics role reports to the CIO and is responsible for ensuring that the data sources of the enterprise support data driven decision making. You will provide strategy, direction and subject matter expertise for information management and technology and will be a key partner to senior business and IT leadership. You'll also lead the design, implementation, and management of data resources and establish data governance standards, guidelines, and best practices for the enterprise. This may take the form of direct production of data and dashboards or providing technological and consultative support. You will participate in strategic planning with a focus on technology initiatives supporting Quickbase’s data objectives.

You will:

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships; effectively influence staff across the IT organization and broader enterprise to drive and realize enterprise information strategies. 

  • Own and evolve the data, integration and architecture strategy for Quickbase. Define and evolve enterprise data and integration architecture and best practices in areas that include, but are not limited to, standards, processes and methodologies, infrastructure, applications, quality, data modeling, etc. in close partnership with business system development and integration leaders, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Security, IT operations and business leaders 

  • Partner with stakeholders and business leaders to provide strategic support and recommendations for how data can best serve various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Finance, and Executives 

  • Provide a critical analysis and recommendation for build, buy, partner investments to support the growing needs of business  

  • Engage and collaborate with senior leaders and peers in evolving enterprise data models ensuring they are viewed, interpreted, and used in a consistent and effective manner 

  • Work with vendors and service providers to identify and select the products or services that best support Quickbase information strategies 

  • Act as a leader and mentor of data and integration development and management, including coaching, training, and career development for team and organization 

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field (or direct work experience in these areas) 

  • Minimum of 10+ years of data and information management experience in a technology-centric scaling organization 

  • 5+ years’ experience leading large scale cross functional data initiatives  

  • Located either on the East coast or Central time zone

  • The ability to effectively influence staff across the IT organization and broader enterprise to drive and realize enterprise information strategies. Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills that translate into the ability to explain and “sell” data concepts and technologies to business and technology leaders. 

  • Ability to run cross functional data initiatives, while managing a team of 5-7 data analysts, data engineers and data architects 

  • Deep technical domain knowledge and the ability to roll up sleeves to teach and develop team members 

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and managed services, data lakes, data warehousing, analytics tools, data visualization, and machine learning capabilities 

  • Extensive experience with Data Warehousing tools like Snowflake, BigQuery or Amazon Redshift 

  • Experience with SQL Server and SSIS/SSRS 

  • Proven expertise with business intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI 

  • Understanding of data management practices such as data integration, master data management, metadata management, data quality management, security/privacy, and data modeling 

  • Experience in all phases of SDLC (system development lifecycle) and information lifecycle 

  • Experience working with vendors and service providers to identify and select the products or services that will best support the data strategy 

  • Familiarity with backend data from common SaaS vendors such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Marketo, etc.
