As a Director of Marketing Analytics, you will lead a team of marketing analyts.  Your team will be relied upon as expert analysts and proactive advisors to some of the most iconic consumer brands to help them grow in an increasingly complex global market. In addition to managing a team of marketing analysts, you will also maintain your own individual contribution.  You & your team will partner with Brand Managers to be the joint center of the intelligence with media leads across different channel expertise so that your team knows what is driving a brand’s business forward. 

Additionally, you all will partner with Global QA Data Engineers to manage & ensure that daily consistent reporting is occurring & pass back feedback/requirements of what’s needed for accuracy & product improvements, produce weekly reporting insights, proactively deliver forward looking prescriptive and predictive insights that drive media optimization improvements, and find opportunities to sell through Data Science Solutions & Products where it benefits the client.
 
You are supported heavily by & work cross-collaboratively with the Data Science Solutions Team to ensure you are setup for success with the needed data to lead impactful insights that drive change.  You will manage the data story with your internal marketing teams to recommend & drive change and have ability to communicate that data story to your clients.
 
You’ll continuously work to build relationships up, down, and across the client’s organization in partnership with each brand’s Cart.com Client Partner.  Your proximity to client’s problems, will you give you a vantage point that Product teams desperately need and will lean into.   As such, you will champion and highly influence the adoption of new ideas, products, and services. Your job is not to maintain, your job is to ADVANCE the client’s media optimization, customer strategy, and digital technology that help them achieve measurable growth objectives.
 
Projects ranging from: (A/B Testing & Design, Ad Hoc Advanced Analysis, Weekly Prescriptive & Predictive Analytics, Propensity models, Customer Profiling & Segmentation, Recommendation engine, Clustering, Incrementality, MTA, Media Mix Modeling, etc.)

Responsibilities:

    • Manage team of advanced analysts with client delivery focus
    • Ensure your team reaches 90% billable utilization
    • Attend & lead client calls weekly where it pertains to analytics, be vocal and ensure the voice of the Analytics leader is heard
    • Contribute to the product roadmap including design & testing of POC products
    • Manage existing automated process of reporting
    • Establish clear & written requirements needed for weekly insights by proactively collaborating with your stakeholders
    • Ensure all reporting is usable for your needs, is being used by media teams, and by clients.  Set goals to measure and increase user adoption of dashboards
    • Maintain accuracy and delivery of insights to clients.  When issues arrive work to isolate root cause issues and pass requirements to global QA teams to improve accuracy
    • Collaborate with clients & internal teams to translate business questions into quantitative analyses
    • Showcase a combination of EQ & IQ by helping stakeholders understand your thinking, it’s value, and the impact it can have when recommendations are applied
    • Find opportunities to apply advanced analytics in solving complex problems
    • Discover opportunities that generate revenue for Cart.com & help client’s initiatives
    • Maintain a product mindset to document service-based projects in great detail with the intent to templatize and streamline for future product development
    • Execute on complex analytics projects where client objectives are ambiguous
    • Ability to handle difficult client conversations and resolve issues as they may arise
    • Manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects at once - work experience in a fast-paced environment
    • Utilize superb presentation & communication skills to showcase results & accuracy of recommendations
    • Manipulate data using your choice of preferred tools (SQL, Alteryx, etc.)
    • Strength in SQL is a strong plus (Snowflake preferred)
    • Ability to work well with Global QA Data Engineers, SQL data analysts & clients to set an aggressively high standard for marketing intelligence & data driven optimization.
    • Strength in relaying detailed requirements to technical teams
    • Provide, promote, and accept feedback and guidance (from all levels) to promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and shared knowledge within a geographically dispersed and cross-functional team.
    • Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
    • Push the boundaries of what is believed to be possible with respect to personal growth and technology to ensure the success of our team and the customers of Cart.com 
    • Over communicate often, intentionally - keeping stakeholders engaged & informed

Experience:

    • Bachelor's / Master’s / PhD degree in STEM - preferred but not required
    • 6+ years of extensive experience in delivering prescriptive insights
    • 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of advanced models & hands on experience applying advanced analytics solutions to business problems
    • 5+ years of experience working with large datasets & communicating clear data stories through visualizations/dashboards/reports (Tableau a plus)
    • 4+ years of relevant experience in consulting or external delivery; Delivery to C-Suite at large company can be equivalent
    • Exposure to high growth teams with tight deadlines & a strong sense of urgency
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills & noted strength in external relationships
    • Superb presentation & communication skills (Excellent at PPT)
    • 3+ years with domain knowledge of advertising, media, or marketing
    • Mastery of common marketing KPIs, metrics, and growth experiments
    • 4+ years managing a team & your own workload
    • 2+ years of relevant experience with retail and/or e-commerce – preferred
    • 1+ years’ experience with digital web analytics & measuring post-click ad performance (GA or Adobe)
    • Working knowledge of SQL preferred (Snowflake a plus) & strong ability to manipulate data into the format necessary to produce the insights desired

Bonus Points:

    • Excellent Proficiency with Excel (Excel VBA a plus)
    • Applied knowledge of statistical concepts
    • Utilization of predictive modeling: ability to utilize predictive analysis for future outcomes to address business problems
    • Prior experience with optimization, experimental design, incrementality, predictive causal analysis, prescriptive analytics, & data science principles
    • Meticulous and consistent attention to detail
    • Ability to manage stress and work-life balance while maintaining a high level of output
    • Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a cross functional team
    • Willingness to learn and proactive problem-solver mentality
    • Strong troubleshooting experience, along with sound judgement to identify issues and escalate when appropriate
    • Demonstrated curiosity with a habit of learning from mistakes & providing feedback
