Our AI team will work across product boundaries to rapidly prototype the AI products and features that will define the future of technical interviewing for Karat, create a competitive moat for our business, and allow our customers to source, hire, and retain the right talent with increased predictability, less bias, and previously unimaginable efficiency. 

What you will do

As the Director of AI at Karat, you will drive innovation by extracting critical insights from our data and providing actionable recommendations for innovative products we can build into the Karat platform as we scale. Leading a small team of Engineers and Data Scientists, you will innovate on top of Karat’s own and external data, leverage cutting-edge AI technology like LLMs, carryout complex analysis, build proofs-of-concept and prototypes, create insight, and build models and products that serve a variety of key end-users in the Interviewing Cloud space.

This role requires a proven track record of practical experience in developing and implementing data science and AI solutions, personally leading complex analytical projects, and getting involved in the technical aspects of data analysis.

Karat’s HQ is based in Seattle, Washington, with employees distributed throughout the U.S, Canada, India, and United Kingdom. This position is only available in the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Immigration sponsorship is available for this position.

  • Lead Karat’s AI strategy and initiatives by creating a suite of AI product enhancements and further establishing Karat as a thought leader in AI for technical hiring.
  • Work in close partnership with the broader data and engineering teams to increase the signal captured during technical interviews in order to maximize the product value provided to clients.
  • Partner with company leadership to optimize and build ways in which we can collect richer data about user interactions.
  • Prototype and build solutions to continuously scale our platform in order to serve a constantly increasing number of interviews with a flexible network.
  • Work hands-on in coding, data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, and exploratory data analysis.

The experience you will bring

  • 5+ years of leading teams and relevant data science and AI work experience.
  • Successful track record in leading teams that built AI and data science models and products. 
  • Strong data analysis and scientific thinking skills with deep knowledge of statistics and rigorous analytical techniques.
  • A track record of personally designing and implementing advanced analytics models and solutions
  • History delivering insights and launching ML models that have provided high-value to the business.
  • Experience with machine learning, data science and modern data processing technologies.
