We are seeking a driven Director of Data Analytics to join our rapidly growing team. With your experience building and managing high-performing data analyst teams, you will be critical to helping us have a direct and positive impact on the COVID-19 response, and help to build biosecurity products of the future. By joining the Concentric by Ginkgo Software and Data Team, you will leverage your skills to help organizations and communities tackle the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19.
Our COVID-19 testing service, Concentric by Ginkgo, is designed to provide broader access to COVID-19 diagnostic testing solutions. We’ve built a laboratory network across the US to support high rates of testing frequency for our clients, offering an end-to-end, onsite testing service designed to test large communities of individuals. Performed at high-scale and high-throughput, this additional testing capacity will be essential for organizations, institutions, and companies to be able to reconvene their teams and reopen their communities.
We also recognize that biosecurity and public health are global problems. After the enormous impact Concentric has had - and continues to have - in the US, we are working to support COVID-19 response and make the world safe from future biosecurity and public health threats.
To help facilitate this initiative - and help drive our biosecurity work forward - we’re looking for a talented Director of Data Analytics to join our team. With your expertise, you’ll help to build, manage, and grow an internal- and external-facing data analytics function that supports both public health decision-makers as well as internal stakeholders (commercial, finance, product, etc.). You’ll collaborate with a team of talented and diverse data analysts, software engineers, product managers, designers, and, of course, our customers (internal and external). Plus, you’ll work with cutting-edge genomics and other diagnostics data in order to build innovative analytic capabilities that establish Concentric as the leader in biosecurity. Our data engineering and analysis stack includes Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Tableau, Jupyter notebooks, and other modern SaaS and self-hosted solutions. Our engineering and computational biology teams collaborate closely with our current data analysts and principally work in Python.
Note on culture: Concentric by Ginkgo is a high energy, positive and fast paced environment where new challenges and opportunities arise every day, so this opportunity is ideal for people who thrive in those kinds of environments, and for people who like lots of variety in their day. There are lots of opportunities to learn and grow. The team is motivated by doing high impact work in service to society. To get a sense of the culture at Ginkgo, read some articles in Grow by Ginkgo, the company magazine we produce, which tells the story of synthetic biology in a Ginkgo-authentic way.

We also feel that it’s important to point out the obvious here – there’s a serious lack of diversity in our industry, and that needs to change. Our goal is to help drive that change. Ginkgo is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of its practices, especially when it comes to growing our team. Our culture promotes inclusion and embraces how rewarding it is to work with people from all walks of life.
We’re developing a powerful biological engineering platform, so we must remain mindful of the many ways our technology can – and will – impact people around the world. We care about how our platform is used, and having a diverse team to build it gives us the best chance that it’s something we’ll be proud of as it continues to grow. Therefore, it’s critical that we incorporate the diverse voices and visions of all those who play a role in the future of biology.
