The Director of Data Analytics leads the team focused on developing, implementing and supporting data analysis across the organization to improve student performance, student experience, and operational efficiency. This role leads a team in establishing metrics, analyzing data, and conducting regular and ad hoc reporting. The role must engage with the academic, political and organizational requirements around each issue and tailor solutions appropriate for each context. The role will maintain close contact with cross functional partners throughout the organization to understand key data challenges, communicate data analysis findings, partner on data informed solutions and monitor implementation on an ongoing basis.

  • Lead the team with a focus on academic data as an essential product that is aligned with strategic goals;
  • Support cross-functional partners by managing and analyzing large amounts of data and providing actionable insights;
  • Serve as subject matter expert on all academic data and owns key performance metrics for business partners
  • Analyze data with standard methods, interpret the results, and provide a summary of analyses with actionable insights; ensure and improve data integrity, accuracy and quality; share knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with others;
  • Implement an Agile methodology that allows the team to be responsive to ad hoc data requests resulting in timely turnarounds and delivery to customer;
  • Collect data routinely and independently as requested to monitor and report on implementation of specific initiatives across the organization; Identify new data sources to enhance analytics;
  • Build a yearly and quarterly roadmap, estimate project budgets, define scope requirements, and prioritize work;
  • Promote and support a culture dedicated to strategic data driven decision making; Provide thought leadership throughout the organization for how to best use data and analysis insights;
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories and road maps for contractor development work.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 3 to 6 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ten (10) years of experience managing academic data analysis, reporting and use
  • Two (2) years of management experience in K-12 data analytics, research, IT, operations

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent project management, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL. Power BI, Python, etc.
  • Data analysis and structured problem solving
  • Ability to travel (15%)
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study
  • Master’s degree in related field of study
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a managed services structure and/or project management
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff
  • Experience with producing and presenting materials for public review
  • Awareness of current trends and directions in online schools and K-12 academic, engagement and persistence/retention data specifically

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $128,819 to $216,604.40. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
