We are seeking a Director of Data Engineering to produce scalable software solutions for our company.  

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Setting an inspirational vision for our Data Engineering team 

     

  • Managing a team of engineers and system administrators responsible for ideating, building and maintaining the data products that our platform needs to monitor and help manage risks.  

     

  • Partnering with Product, DS and Engineering team to define and deliver the most impactful end-to-end solutions with both or either internal and third party technology. 

     

  • Ensuring the team has the right mix of skills and capabilities to deliver impactful solutions.

     

  • Overall ownership of Data Engineering’s impact in the company.

     

  • Working closely with each direct report to help them define professional roles, and they have the resources they need to advance their career.

     

  • Coaching team to develop best-in-class DE practices, e.g.: code reviews, design & implementation standards to ensure company builds for efficiency, scale, compliance and maintainability.

     

  • Reviewing existing systems landscape and provide guidance on best practices for optimization and automation. 

  • In addition, this role will be responsible for other ad-hoc duties as assigned.  

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ Years of experience in technical business systems engineering or software development

     

  • 3+ Years of experience leading, mentoring, managing and developing technology teams

     

  • 5+ Years of experience in Data Engineering

     

  • Strong cross functional project management, execution and organizational skills

     

  • Ability to influence and partner with technical and cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Data Science and Research.

     

  • Experience managing distributed and remote teams

     

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

     

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a highly specialized set of stakeholders, e.g.: scientists

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Total compensation includes salary and stock option grants. The salary range for this position is between $190k to $250k, and individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.  PHC offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage, wellbeing offerings, 401K, unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and a work from home stipend. PHC covers 100% of medical premiums for employees and 50% of medical premiums for dependents.
