About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Fraud Risk leader to join our risk team and manage fraud risk related to three main verticals - Authentication, Ecosystem and our Move Money products. We are looking for someone who is data-driven, has strong analytical & technical skills and is highly collaborative. The ideal candidate is a customer focused, results oriented, data driven leader with deep expertise in fraud risk.

In this role, you will report to our Director of Fraud Risk and closely work with senior/executive leaders within risk and multiple XFN teams (product, data/analytics, risk operations and member experience teams). A highly visible leadership role where you have the opportunity to work on company’s and risk teams top priorities.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $188,600 and up to $267,100. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Lead a high performing risk team responsible for goals related to Authentication, Ecosystem and our Move Money products (Mobile Check Deposit and ACH Transfer)
  • Optimize our Authentication strategy to achieve our ATO loss goals while improving member experience 
  • Responsible for the risk performance of our Move Money products (Mobile Check Deposit and ACH Transfer)
  • Design A/B tests and develop strategies to optimize limits and risk policies and help members access money faster and easier in a seamless way
  • Define and manage ecosystem risk (Unemployment fraud, Tax Fraud, NSF/R01 Returns on RDFI Pulls, Micro Deposit fraud etc.,.), remove bad actors from the system and support interoperability towards increasing acceptance of  Chime cards and bank accounts
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with our product, operations and member experience senior leaders and their teams

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 10+ years of work experience with 5+ years of relevant banking risk experience
  • 5+ years of people management experience directly managing a team of risk professionals and people managers. Need to have experience hiring and building risk teams
  • Deep expertise in analytics, fraud risk, digital banking, payments or payment networks
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent SQL programming skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience in Python (or R or SAS or similar language) and working in Looker or a similar business intelligence tool
  • A strong passion for Chime’s members and mission, fighting fraud trends and solving challenging analytical problems for the business
