Shipt, Inc. seeks a full-time Director of Machine Learning Engineering. Duties include drive the application of our machine learning platform that enables data scientists and engineers across the company to easily build and deploy machine learning solutions at scale through a unified platform approach. This position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer and Information Systems, Information Systems, or related field, plus at least 5 years of experience in the proffered position or related position (e.g., Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Computer Systems Analyst), including 5 years of managing a machine learning engineering team (which may have been gained concurrently). Work experience must also include at least 5 years of experience with the following: (1) developing and deploying machine learning models in production; (2) understanding of machine learning, software development, and statistical modeling; (3) Python and GCP machine learning platform; (4) Python API development framework (e.g., FastAPI, Django, or Flask); (5) Google Cloud Platform computing services; (6) SQL (e.g., Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift); (7) Version control and peer code review systems; (8) Event-driven architecture; (9) Batch processing frameworks (e.g., Airflow); and (10) On-demand and multi-sided marketplaces. Salary: $105,602 to $338,765/year. This position is fully remote and may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Company HQ is located in Birmingham, AL. Limited travel to company’s offices for work reasons may be needed. Various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. may be possible in the future.
