POSITION SUMMARY

Life360 is looking for an accomplished Director of Analytics with a strong background in product and marketing analytics to drive business value and growth throughout the organization. The analytics director will lead and develop a world class outcome based team of analytics and data science professionals. This is an opportunity to own and craft the analytic agenda for the company.  Reporting to the Head of Data, Analytics and Data Science (DAS), the Director of Analytics will focus on the following key areas:

  • Deep understanding of our user’s behaviors throughout the Life360 funnel and customer journey including acquisition (website, paid marketing), activation (onboarding, feature lifecycle, smart notifications), conversion (key in-product funnels) and retention (LTV)
  • Identify growth opportunities in collaboration with all product managers
  • Oversee opportunity identification, experiment design, forecasting, goaling and metrics / reporting design
  • Develop and monitor company KPI development 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Build and lead a high-performance analytics and data science team and be responsible for your organization's productivity, operational excellence and business impact
  • Communicate your team’s work and directly assist senior leaders in decision making
  • Prioritize and set the vision for your team’s work, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality analyses.
  • Develop a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of Life360
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core products and services
  • Partner with Product, Finance, Support, Marketing, and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Drive data platform and engineering requirement enabling instrumentation, Business Intelligence, and optimization of data pipelines and data structures
  • Build / maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products and business.
  • Mine massive amounts of data and extract useful product insights
  • Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and strategic initiatives and product launches
  • Own the management of our data event instrumentation, data dictionary and make sure we do not waste both financial and technical resources

ABOUT YOU

  • BS/MS in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Quantitative and/or Growth Analytics for a digital, mobile, or tech company with a B2C focus.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing other team members in a formal or informal capacity
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages, such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • A technical player / coach that participates in rolling up your sleeves to get hands on if / when called upon
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing in a cloud based environment
  • Strong experience utilizing Python, SQL or other analytics programming languages
  • Ability to influence and collaborate in cross-functional capacity with leaders in engineering, product, marketing, finance, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in program and project delivery evolving translation of strategic business and product questions into a successful data and analytics roadmap.
  • Proven experience in delivering enterprise Data and Business Intelligence projects (Quicksight, Tableau, Qlick, Looker, or equivalent)
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Amplitude is a plus
