Director, Strategic Analytics

The Strategic Analytics team delivers key business insights and analysis related to strategic, operational, and financial performance across the Company. In this newly created, high profile role, you will manage, coach, and develop a team of five analysts. You will have significant visibility throughout the company, and will be reporting into the Chief of Staff, who reports directly into the CEO. 

You will be responsible for managing ongoing reporting and analysis of customer, partner, and internal operational data, monitoring business performance, understanding trends, identifying operational efficiencies and business opportunities, and ensuring we use data proactively to inform and drive our decision-making. 

You are an exceptional leader and communicator who builds strong relationships. Success in this role requires combining strong business acumen with analytics know-how. You will define metrics, measure performance, investigate behavior, diagnose root causes, develop dashboards/reports, conduct in-depth analysis, and present the story, insights, and recommendations at the executive level. 

You should be both hands-on with the details and excited about seeing the big picture. Success in this role will ultimately be measured by business impact and the positive development of your Strategic Analytics team.

How You Will Make An Impact:

    • Proactively identify and surface opportunities to increase efficiency and improve operations. Example areas of project focus are: lead generation, funnel conversion, sales processes, customers success, capacity planning, product offering
    • Define metrics that are independent, holistic, accurate, encourage the right behaviors, and are aligned with company strategy and objectives
    • Coordinate with a variety of areas across the company, such as Operations, Product Management, Data Science, FP&A, IT, and various other team leaders
    • Interface with executive stakeholders to prioritize and present work and to meet expectations for timelines, accuracy, quality, and overall business impact
    • Manage, coach, and develop a team of five analysts focused on functional areas throughout the organization

What We Are Looking For:

    • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, analytics, or a similar strategic business function
    • 3+ years of management experience
    • Prior experience in FinTech / financial services / management consulting
    • Both a strong background in technical fields (math, science, finance, engineering, or statistics) and natural business acumen
    • Advanced degrees and/or MBA are a plus
    • Experience with BI tools (Mode, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
    • Excel mastery, expert in SQL, experience with R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB
    • Exemplary presentation skills with PowerPoint / Google Slides
    • Ability to explain complex issues simply and intuitively, and willingness to challenge assumptions, communicate limitations, and flag blind spots
    • You must be a world-class individual contributor as well as manager; you will not be here just to tell other people what to do
