SmartBiz’s success depends on Quality data. We are restructuring our Data Engineering practice to enable the company’s growth and success by building a solid data foundation. We are seeking a Staff Data Engineer to help us define and realize our vision for accurate data across the company. You have a history of driving change and you are knowledgable in change management techniques. You take time to clearly understand the business needs, secure the right data sources, design usable data models, and build robust & dependable data pipelines. You are used to delivering on multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities.

You will be part of the Cloud, Data & Security team. Reporting to the Director.

How You Will Make An Impact:

• Evangelize high-quality software engineering practices towards building data infrastructure and pipelines at scale
• Lead data engineering projects to ensure pipelines are reliable, efficient, testable & maintainable
• Design data models for optimal storage and retrieval and to meet critical product and business requirements
• Drive teams to implement a modern data and analytics platform
• Effectively work across team boundaries to establish an overarching data pipeline, and provide guidance to individual teams
• Requirement gathering, design, development and implementing data pipeline
• Establish data governance processes, procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain the integrity and security of the data
• Consistently plan and deliver high-quality releases in 2-week sprints
• Create and maintain critical data standards and metadata that allows data to be understood and leveraged as a shared asset

What We Are Looking For:

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience
• 5+ years of experience with Python
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
