As an engineering leader, you’ll lead a team to deliver efficient, scalable, and secure data infrastructure that enables the company to make better data-driven decisions.
You will:
- Establish Data Engineering at BioRender! You’ll set the strategy for the BioRender data platform, including decisions around tooling, architecture, best practices and roadmap in order to make data comprehensive and accessible across the company
- Hire and nurture an inclusive and diverse team of your dreams to build a scalable and reliable data platform
- Collaborate with business, data science, and product teams to deliver data services/products that drive business outcomes
- Enable massive improvements in product, by enriching our data with other data sources and providing data capabilities for product personalization, AI, customer facing analytics, etc
- Enable business teams to easily draw insights from our data and make decisions (e.g. increasing pipeline efficiency by enriching account data with firmographic data)
- Collaborate with our security team to define data governance policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
Our ideal fit:
- 2+ years of experience managing a high performing data team and consistently delivering value to the company
- 7+ years of data engineering, software and/or platform experience
- Previous experience working with data infrastructure (such as data warehouses, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, AirFlow, etc.)
- Technical proficiency in Python and/or SQL or similar to be able to be hands-on when needed
- Experience with data modelling and building scalable data solutions to support internal business needs/processes/operations and data-driven product features
- A technical background that gives you the ability to relate to the team's problems, facilitate discussion, and guide/coach engineers when making tradeoffs and technical decisions
