DESCRIPTION

Job summary
If you love solving problems, truly enjoy collaboration and long to be a part of a team that lives and breathes employee experience… then read on. We’re delighted to be on the hunt for another excellent human to join our team as an Experience Data Scientist.

The Experience Data Scientist is a member of our design team, contributing to every part of our process: research scoping, design, communication, framework development, stakeholder relationship development, and project management.

We count on the data scientist to guide the team in how data should (or shouldn’t!) play a role in what we’re researching, provoke discussions about the experiments we can run, help design compelling data visualizations, and bring their expertise in telling a story through data and other algorithms.

Key job responsibilities
· Center your work on people. We go to work because we want to improve employees’ lives through research and design. You’ll talk with and work alongside the people our research affect, to develop a deep understanding of their needs and their context and develop solutions.
· Experiment and iterate. Our work often requires quick iteration and experimentation. You’ll perform data analysis, create visualizations/simulations, and implement statistical/machine learning/optimization algorithms — learning new techniques and tools as necessary.
· Navigate a variety of data sources. Such as interview data, qualitative data, badge data, workplace surveys, focus groups, and/or external data sources.
· Collaborate with colleagues. We’re a passionate and creative community from a variety of backgrounds: communications, recruiting, HR, economics, psychology, legal, and more. You’ll learn from people from a uniquely broad variety of backgrounds and translate concepts between them.
· Excellence in qualitative reasoning. You understand what data can and can’t tell us, can communicate that to others, and conceptually understand when to apply particular quantitative techniques.
· Coding generalists. You are fluent at writing code to wrangle, analyze, and visualize data, as well as implementing algorithms in code (but don’t necessarily need to know about production software engineering).
