About the Department:

Reach Financials’ Risk team consists of a group of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analytics Professionals covering all the business units, and Business Intelligence Analysts. We are passionate about data and cutting-edge technology. Our goal is to leverage the data to drive the business growth agenda. The Risk and Decision Science team works cross-functionally with other business units to ideate, hypothesize, analyze, and test, formalize, implement, maintain, and track progresses for all initiatives.

About the Role:

We are looking for a gritty, curious, and collaborative Fraud Data Scientist to solve business problems using data. You will use analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze and interpret large dataset. Then you will develop, deploy, and track data-driven business solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Mine and analyze data from an internal database and external vendors to optimize and improve business decisions
  • Develop rules/strategies and work with product team to deploy solutions to prevent fraud losses while minimizing customer impact
  • Create tracking and identify emerging fraud risk threats
  • Build and leverage internal and external data sources to drive superior risk decisions for the installment loan product
  • Collaborate with operations and product teams to communicate awareness of fraud trends and initiatives
  • Utilize third party fraud tools (like: Threat Metrix, Lexis Nexis) to review fraud case setups to hypothesize and test new ideas to improve fraud strategy
  • Strategize and develop key tracking metrics, develop, and automate reports to track the fraud trends. Identify signal from noise and recommend fraud strategy changes to the risk and data science team

What You Should Have:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant fields is required.
  • 3+ years of experience extracting, cleaning, manipulating datasets
  • Experience using Python to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets is must
  • Experience in lending is required
  • Knowledge and experience working with fraud solution providers a plus
  • Experience personal lending fraud space is plus
  • Result oriented and self-driven
