About the job

This position is needed  to design and implement our IT data architecture in support of our IT Data and Analytics Practice. This role involves strategic planning, defining target state data architecture and managing data standards in line with that architecture. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment of all standards and practices to industry standards . They must have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and facilitate data-driven decision making. Advanced knowledge in all aspects of modern cloud data engineering is required.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design and implement  data architecture solutions on platforms such AWS, Snowflake, Presto, Tableau and others
  • Develop data lake consolidation strategies, integrating multiple data sources into a centralized Snowflake and Presto tenants.
  • Optimize solutions for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Define data governance policies and security controls to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Rationalize existing BI tools and develop candidate migration plans for existing workflows
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data architecture solutions
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data queries and pipelines to enhance system efficiency and reduce latency.
  • Implement data integration solutions using services such as AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, or similar tools to automate data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.

Required:

  • 10+ years total IT or data engineering experience 
  • 6+ years in a senior engineering or data architect role working with AWS and leading big data solutions such as Snowflake
  • 3+ years working with with large scale data lakes using tools such as AWS Lake Formation
  • 3+ years building multi-environment data architectures with a focus on back office, corporate or IT Data and Analytics workflows. 
  • 2+ years working with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

Desired:

  • 2+ years experience with AWS AI/ML tools such as SageMaker 
  • 2+ years experience in using AWS ECS, EKS or other leading containerization and Kubernetes solutions in support of data engineering workflows.  
  • 2+ years experience in data governance

Location

This role will be remote, and based in Colombia.

Travel
