About the role:

You will work on leading and managing the Data Products team which is responsible for the building and delivering of customer-facing ML and AI capabilities. You will ensure that the team collaborates very closely with other engineering teams and you will partner with cross-functional leaders to guide the execution of Unbounce’s AI strategy.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • You’re a skilled Data Science leader with experience executing a strategy and leading teams. You will partner with the squad team leads, product and the VP of engineering to develop, implement and evaluate high-level strategic direction, priorities and planning that align with Unbounce’s goals and deliveries
  • Work with cross-functional leaders to ensure your squads have the support and data they need to deliver on initiatives
  • Invest in and lead your team through feedback, coaching, recognition, 1:1s and performance reviews. Driving career development and growth plans
  • Oversee the day-to-day work of the squad, ensuring the process is optimal and the team is able to do their best work
  • Partner with leadership and the P&C teams  in headcount planning and hiring

A little bit about you:  

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist/MLE applying machine learning techniques to business problems
  • Fluency with SQL and a high level of experience with Python
  • Solid understanding of Statistics 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with docker and AWS a bonus
  • Proven experience in shipping ML models or AI-backed features into production
  • Strong people leader who pays personal attention to the development and growth of others
  • Can build relationships with other leaders within the company and are able to champion your team
  • Able to see the bigger picture and stay up to date with major initiatives and company goals
  • Able to prioritize fast-moving initiatives and communications
