Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Data & AI, the Manager of Data Engineering & Business Intelligence will establish and execute a technology roadmap and implementation startegy for the delivery and support of data engineering, and BI analytics functions. This position is part of the central organization within Digital Office. The leader is responsible for establishing an organizational approach to data engineering, and BI analytics, by building the appropriate data solutions and processes. This role is global in scope providing functional accountability for all aspects of enterprise and consumer data including data analytics, standards, data quality, and data management components.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership toward the development of a data platforms, capability roadmaps, business alignment, data processes, data policy management, data architecture, data quality, and data integration.
  • Drive the design and implementation of modern cloud data architectures, with a strong emphasis on Azure-based solutions, and delivery of real/near real-time and batch reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Partner with the Consumer Marketing, Commercial, Digital, and other businesses organizations to build capabilities required for data management and advanced analytical needs.
  • Lead a team that designs and develops scalable reports, dashboards, templates, visualizations and scorecards that drive valuable insights for the business.
  • Regularly report on progress towards goals, outlining current roadblocks, time estimations, results, and recommendations for accelerating project timelines
  • Actively participate in architecture, design, and code reviews for the data engineering team, providing constructive feedback and facilitating continuous improvement
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, SMEs, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
  • Drive the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production.
  • Define and manage SLA’s for all data sets and processes running in production.
  • Provide expert guidance on Business Intelligence (BI) skills and technologies.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable BI applications to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and complete technical architectural documents.
  • Define BI standards, guidelines and best practices for business groups and technical teams.
  • BI operations support like tools upgrades, trouble shooting, BI tool performance improvement strategies.

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields is required.
  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related field of study, is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 8 years of data engineering, data warehousing & BI Analytics experience with a proven track record of leading engineering teams to deliver world-class data solutions.
  • Proven supervisory leadership skills, setting objectives, managing performance, coaching, and feedback.
  • Able to manage complexity, project management experience, ability to navigate technology and organizational challenges to complete project tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to persuade and influence others at all levels of the organization. Provides help and expertise in written and oral communication to team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and manage day-to-day operational support activities along with major initiatives.
  • Experience in successfully building and deploying a new data platform on Azure/ AWS using showcasing both strategic and technical insight.
  • Knowledge and experience with data engineering productivity toolchains and concepts (CI/CD, DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Agile Scrum / Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience with architectural design for performance and scalability
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, including knowledge of Python libraries/frameworks.
  • Comfortable working directly with data analytics to bridge business requirements with data engineering
  • Expertise in Azure / AWS Serverless technologies, like Azure Synapse Analytics, Pyspark, Athena, S3, Kinesis, lambda, and Glue
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
