About the Role

We are looking for a Manager/Senior Analyst, Credit Acquisition to help Caribou accelerate loan growth by building new direct-to-consumer acquisition channels(majorly direct mail) and optimize existing credit marketplace channels (e.g.,Credit Karma). By leveraging credit model/data and machine learning models, this analyst will play a key role in Caribou’s analytics-based marketing strategy. As one of the first analysts in the newly-built credit team, you will report directly to the VP of Credit and work closely with colleagues in Marketing, Data Science, and Credit Risk. You will have opportunities to own strategy and analytics for multiple high volume marketing channels. The Manager/Senior Analyst, Credit Acquisition responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Establish and optimize pre-screen direct mail campaign name selection rules and process
  • Partner with data scientists on pre-screen response/approval/funding machine learning models development, evaluation, and implementation
  • Optimize credit marketplace channels (e.g., CreditKarma) by leveraging price sensitivity testing, funnel conversion improvement, and increasing front-end vs back-end credit policy/model alignment
  • Optimize channel economics and multi-channel strategy and attribution
  • Contribute to end-to-end borrower acquisition process, balancing risk, profitability, and customer experience

This role can be based out of Caribou offices in Washington, DC; Denver, CO; Austin, TX. Alternatively, the Manager/Senior Analyst of Credit Acquisition can work remotely from a state where Caribou does business(we are very remote friendly!). However, this role will require attendance at occasional in-person team meetings. As a result, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this position.

About You

  • 2-5 years of experience in credit strategy and analytics, either in risk or marketing
  • Strong passion for transforming consumer lending industry
  • Proficient in analytical scripting language such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good business understanding of machine learning models
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor's degree or higher level program in a quantitative field such as math, economics, engineering

  • Expertise in credit bureau data
  • Experience in auto lending 
  • Experience in direct mail
