EquipmentShare is searching for a Market Intelligence Analyst for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our Strategic Financial Analytics team as the department continues to grow.  This new team member may be based anywhere in the United States and offers a remote/hybrid work option, but must be able to meet with management in person at least quarterly.  

EquipmentShare is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to be responsible for monitoring industry trends, conducting market research studies, and keeping the organization aware of the status of the construction industry and economy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The Market Intelligence Analyst reports into the Business Analytics team, a cross-functional analytics group responsible for building systems and processes to inform the company leadership and c-suite with actionable insights
  • Responsible for leading all the activities related to market monitoring, extracting, summarizing information and using it to maintain market models and projections to guide the business strategy and improve market share for EquipmentShare 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
  • Deliver and communicate market intelligence reports in a timely manner
  • Manage market intelligence budget and engagements with external research companies, assess quality of the reports by monitoring published research related to market
  • Drive continuous improvement of data quality and accuracy with market research firms
  • Perform research and analysis involving competitors, pricing, sales, and methods of marketing, existing and potential customer preferences, economic conditions, advertising, distribution, and other factors that may influence future sales, market positioning, or product offering
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data, providing data synthesis & analysis which links multiple inputs in support of decision-making
  • Create standard and/or adhoc reports, and any additional documents, as required

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business analytics or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in market research, strategic marketing, and business case development 
  • Superior analytical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and derive insights
  • Advanced business knowledge and ability to translate research objectives into business objectives
  • Strong organizational skills to navigate in matrix environment (with commercial, product, and finance teams) 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Strong executive communication skills 
  • Solid understanding of equipment or equipment rental industry and drivers of market growth.
  • Ability to take initiatives and drive innovation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Python or R experience preferred
