The Role: 

As a Marketing Data Analyst, you will leverage analytical expertise and problem-solving skills to translate data into critical insights to make our marketing more effective and efficient. Utilizing skills such as SQL, Python, and Paid Media Analytics, you are responsible for collaborating closely with business partners to understand business goals and key initiatives to align data insights, measurements, and reporting capabilities. The vital work you will spearhead is essential to the business, helping us establish the best path forward. 

Reporting through Revenue Operations, with a dotted line reporting relationship to our VP of Marketing, you will act as a collaborative, solution-oriented partner to our Marketing team. The role of the Marketing Analyst is to analyze and synthesize internal and external datasets that will enable Hotel Engine to segment markets to drive business objectives for all marketing channels (especially paid media) through generating meaningful insights, decision-making, and designing/analyzing hypotheses testing.  

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness across the channels and tactics 
  • Advance state of marketing measurement, testing, and optimization 
  • Improve the self-service and reliance on first-party experimentations and analyses 
  • Support marketing with statistical and quantitative analyses
  • Works with disparate data sets to prepare data for reporting or analytical modeling
  • Build and analyze marketing dashboards and reports across channels and platforms to provide visibility and actionable insights; evaluate and define critical KPIs 
  • Help develop new user acquisition forecasts based on marketing investment strategy and track performance relative to the goal, identifying root causes of changes in metrics 
  • Utilize multi-channel attribution to inform marketing spend targets, optimize channel mix, and inform creative sequencing 
  • Drive continuous learning by proactively identifying marketing opportunity areas to increase conversion, translating them into structured analysis, generating actionable insights, and advocating for proposed next steps to key stakeholders 

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Hotel Management, Business, or Data Science
  • 5+ years total relevant work experience 
  • Exposure to statistical analysis or optimization analytics 
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: SQL, R, VBA, Sass, Python, and/or experience in working with Google BigQuery. 
  • Skilled in SQL and data visualization (ideally Looker) 
  • Advanced experience with Excel 
  • Deep understanding of standard statistical methods and applications (A/B testing, probability, regression) 
  • Strong troubleshooting skillset for data discrepancies and an understanding of data pipelines
  • Ability to work independently with agility and prioritize data and MarTech effectively
  • Experience with multi-channel attribution models and a comprehensive understanding of the marketing funnel
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (Hypotheses testing, Regression Analysis, Causality Analysis)
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics and/or Salesforce
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy 

Cash compensation: 

  • The base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000/year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above.
