Job Description:

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Analytics Engineer to build scalable analytics products to deliver insights and experiences where they are needed most across the business. Our work is sourced from user stories, data exploration, and organizational OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).

The ideal candidate for this role will ask "what problem are you trying to solve" and then determine the product and experience that creates the most value and impact. You will work collaboratively to develop a consistent and aligned approach to providing data and analytical insights, and those insights will help drive us to meet business critical objectives.

Who you are:

  • Always looking to improve upon the way we deliver value to our teammates and customers

  • A creative problem-solver who interprets "impossible" or "hard" as a personal challenge and an opportunity for growth

  • A humble teammate that seeks feedback with the goal of building the most effective and efficient product as possible

  • An advocate of DevOps principles including collaboration, automation, continuous improvement, and continuous development

  • Comfortable with change and a fast-paced environment

What you’ll own:

  • Curating data models (dbt) that combine disparate data sources for internal and external analytics

  • Development of analytics products that directly contribute to revenue by enabling customer success teams to drive customer retention conversations with insights from product usage data

  • Support continuous development of our metrics layer that provides defined and consistent aggregated metrics to executives while simultaneously providing deeper segmentation to business and strategy teams

  • Data visualization of the most important and visible analytics for the company

  • Enabling data practitioners throughout the company by providing project consultation, code review and support for analytics tooling

Experience you’ll need:

  • Ability to clearly distill technicality when communicating with senior non-technical leaders and partners

  • 8-10 years of proven experience applying analytics solutions to sophisticated business problems

  • Expertise in SQL (common table expressions and window functions) and version control (Git)

  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (our stack: Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake and Tableau)

  • Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, data curation, data visualization, and enabling self-service analytics

  • Knowledge of Python and GitHub actions are a plus
