About The Role

As a Principal Data Scientist in Data and Analytics Organization at DriveWealth, you will help DriveWealth discover the information hidden in our data and provide insights for our partners and partners’ clients. These insights will help our partners expand their offerings and increase their client base as well as different use cases applicable for fin-tech industry. You will collaborate and partner with different teams across the organization to collect, organize, and analyze data to derive insights that help in powering different business decisions. You will apply your knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.

What You'll Do

  • You must be passionate and experienced in advanced analytics and deriving predictive insights for different use cases relevant to the fin-tech industry. You are passionate to stay current in Data Science, AI and ML by learning and applying the latest technologies and best practices. You will leverage cutting edge big data technologies on AWS or other leading cloud platforms.
  • You are able to work independently on modules and complete tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision and high quality. You are a leader and bold to seek feedback from other team members.
  • You will collaborate with executives, leaders and team members in business and technology to understand and translate business needs into data science use cases. You will help in identifying opportunities for DriveWealth for data monetization and also in the areas of client insights, risk management, risk modeling, asset allocation, fraud detection, compliance etc.,
  • You will work with your leader to define a roadmap for Data science, AI and ML at DriveWealth. You will work with your leader in establishing and growing a center of excellence for Data science, AI and ML.
  • You will select features, built and optimized classifiers using machine learning techniques such as random forest, xgboost, TensorFlow, Linear regression, Time series methods etc., You will research and recommend shared data science platform elements.
  • You will extend and enrich the company's data with external information sources as needed. You will enhance data collection procedures for information needed for analytical use cases. 
  • You are a team player and able to work in a collaborative environment with a desire to share your knowledge and expertise. You will lead and mentor other data scientists and interns. You will work in an agile development environment. You will collaborate and work with other pillars of data and analytics organization at DriveWealth. These pillars include Data Governance and Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Data Visualization, Data and Analytics Operations. 

What You'll Need

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to leverage data science to drive and deliver business results. 7-10 years of data science experience in financial industry.  Any recognitions received for data science skills or research articles or publications will be a plus.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in translating business problems into data science use cases and communicating results to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in writing production-grade machine learning models in Python or R programming languages.
  • At least 4 years of experience in research projects in academic or commercial environments
