The Data & Analytics team at DriveWealth creates data outputs and products for internal and external customers.  We are looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to work closely with the product team to create both ad-hoc analytics and reusable outputs (dashboards and python notebooks) to monitor product growth and ideate on product usage. The output is focused on answering existing product questions but may lead to data and analytics features in the customer facing data products.  In addition, this role will establish a centralized data science practice so will work closely with the larger Data & Analytics team to create a reproducible data science pipeline.

The ideal candidate thrives working closely with product managers while also being able to communicate very effectively with data engineers, analytics engineers and other internal stakeholders. The role will encompass working end-to-end on data products (from clarifying requirements to ideateing on the solution to building) with a central role of choosing the correct level of data science rigor to meet the objectives without being too sophisticated and time intensive. The candidate should be excited about coming into a team in the process of shaping the direction of data and analytics at DriveWealth; this means balancing competing priorities and laying the groundwork for data science to grow and help DriveWealth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with product managers to understand the products and determine the appropriate analytic and data science outputs to help grow DriveWealth
  • Lead the construction of reusable outputs for internal end users (python notebooks, dashboards, csv outputs depending on use case)
  • Help create the structure necessary to reproduce “one off” data science results that can scale with DriveWealth and the data science team
  • Work with analytics engineering to create growing set of data features and data engineering to create data science and ML pipeline as needed
  • Proactively create analytics and dive into research on relevant data science topics, including ideating on analytics and data science usage through DriveWealth, helping to increase ability to make informed data driven decisions
  • Work to establish an open and scalable data culture through documentation, constructive code reviews and clear explanations of priorities and pain points

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience solving data problems with business partners to produce automated deliverables (ideally leveraging Python Notebooks)
  • Fluent in SQL and Python
  • Experience working in Tableau, QuickSight or other similar BI tools
  • Strong analytics and statistics background ideally with knowledge of behavioral modeling such as cohort and survival analyses
  • BS in Economics, Computer Science or equivalent program

Bonus

  • Familiarity with Snowflake and Databricks
  • FinTech or stock market experience
  • Familiarity with github and AGILE development
  • Experience with DBT, Airflow or other orchestration and SQL code management tools
