The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
The Senior Product Analyst plays a leading role in developing and delivering accurate and impactful data and data-driven views for the global cyber insurance business, ultimately supporting informed and efficient decision making and improved business outcomes. The Analyst acts as the global cyber team’s central expert for cyber as a product data, management information, and portfolio reporting, and ensures the utilization of data is maximized across the global, cross-functional cyber team. The analyst also works closely with the GRS Data Office and other business and functional partners to leverage existing organizational capabilities where possible. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, collaborative, consistently align work to business priorities, and work under limited direction from a manager on more complex
tasks.
If the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of a GRS office, the expectation is to have an in-office presence of two times/week. This policy is subject to change.
The role is responsible for:
- Data framework, expansion, and quality improvement: Advances efforts to drive data synchronicity and centralization across the world and across functions (e.g. financial, actuarial, account specific, policy specific, risk-selection tool (telemetry), claims, etc). Develops the global data framework which serves as the foundation for stronger data governance and enhanced data roadmaps. Engages with internal global cyber and cross-functional teams, along with external vendors, to assess, recommend, and/or implement measures that improve cyber data robustness and quality, control and remediation. May serve as a key point of contact for select vendors.
- Data manipulation: Works with the Data Office and independently to gather, query, and manipulate data from various internal, external, portfolio, and technical data sources to drive an enhanced, comprehensive understanding of the portfolio and performance, and respond to business questions. Additional efforts may be required to evaluate and work with the Data Office or independently to connect to new internal and external data sources.
- Report/ Dashboard development and maintenance: Develops reports and conducts select maintenance for reports/dashboards considered complex in nature, working collaboratively with key cyber, functional, and business stakeholders to ensure the design of reporting solutions are fit for purpose; this includes the use of data visualization tools.
- Analysis and insights: Examples of analysis are identifying trends, patterns, gaps, and benchmarking. Also responsible for identifying and driving transparency for potential biases that can impact analysis and decision-making.
- Communication: Communication of data, analysis, and insights takes the form of dashboards, reports or PowerPoints, presentations, responses to ad hoc requests, and more. Key stakeholders and partners for communication include the global cyber office of underwriting and leadership team, business unit and regional cyber teams, cyber risk engineering, exposure risk management, actuarial, claims, distribution, marketing and other cross-functional partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field. Minimum 3 years, typically 4 years or more of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Access).
- Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
