The Role in Brief:

Product Analyst, Data Visualization

The Product Analyst, Data Visualization translates large data sets into meaningful and compelling visuals and interactive dashboards - enabling identification of real-time trends, delivering actionable new insights and powering strategy and decision-making.  This role is responsible for administering all stages of the business intelligence cycle: understanding business objectives, collecting business requirements, designing and developing reports or dashboards (code and visualization), scheduling and deployment of business intelligence components, and completing accurate and timely documentation.

If you have experience with Tableau or similar Data Visualization software and want to have a key role in scaling business data and business intelligence capabilities, this role is for you.

This position will ideally be based in Richmond, VA; however, as EAB embraces a hybrid-work environment in the future, candidates who may be based remotely are also encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Visualization and Reporting:

·        Make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by transforming, improving and integrating data and developing appropriate charts, graphs, and other visuals to meet the requirements of business leadership and analytics.

·        Develop dashboards and reporting that enable discovery, analysis, and interpretation of trends or patterns in complex data sets and support strategic analysis and decision-making.

·        Design and maintain reporting and internal self-service solutions that are automated and interactive at scale.

·        Develop business intelligence and data visualization capabilities through training and user group resources.

Other Analytical Support:

·        Support improvements in data capabilities that will enhance corporate visibility into key performance metrics and other critical intelligence.

·        Create and maintain documentation that includes the design, requirements, sources and other metadata about reports and dashboards.

·        Maintain frameworks to determine prioritization of projects

·        Develop a thorough understanding of higher-education enrollment funnel and how access to analytics insights contribute to the success of our partners’ recruitment efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in a business, computer science, management information systems, marketing, or quantitative field required

·        1+ years experience using data analysis to generate insightful findings required

·        6 months+ experience developing and publishing reports in Tableau Desktop/Tableau Server or similar business intelligence platforms

·        Familiarity with SQL code

·        Subject matter expertise in data visualization and reporting best practices

·        Exceptional analytic skills with a focus on converting analysis into strategy

·        Flexibility and attitude to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging work environment with multiple priorities

·        Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate requirements and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

·        Detail oriented and well organized

·        Ability to collaborate with diverse functional areas to successfully complete projects

·        Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and a desire to own projects from inception to presentation

·        Proficiency in standard business applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Ideal Qualifications:

·        Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other quantitative field a strong plus

·        3+ years experience in direct marketing, higher education, or fundraising (preferred)

·        Proficiency using SQL, Python, R or other query tools/languages to perform data manipulation, with a working knowledge of databases
