The Opportunity

Gradient Learning and CZI envision a country where demographics (e.g. race and socioeconomic status) are not predictive of outcomes and every child enters adulthood with the knowledge, skills, habits, and agency they need to realize their full potential.

We achieve this by supporting an iteratively improving K-12 education system that makes sure all students are equitably prepared (i.e. each student is given exactly what they need).

We believe each student needs to achieve a baseline of commencement-level academic outcomes (aka a high school diploma). That said, we also believe academic outcomes are necessary, but not sufficient.

We believe transformational K-12 education honors the humanity of every student and educator and takes a whole child approach to education. This is the key to students thriving and flourishing in life beyond the classroom.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work with a team that leverages data analysis and visualization to help school administrators make better decisions. Your charter, going forward, could include (but isn’t limited to) using data as a lever for change with other key audiences, including teachers and parents.  You will partner closely with a software development team, learning scientists, human development experts, and former educators to continue to create and refine the technology tools that help our teachers and students thrive.

You will

  • Lead a core product area with a team of world-class engineers, designers, data scientists, and experts in education
  • Establish shared vision across internal teams and external partners and develop principled and tactical strategies
  • Craft a strategy for collecting, analyzing and presenting data in our products to enable K12 school leaders and teachers to make sound pedagogical decisions and take impactful actions
  • Integrate insights from usability studies, research, and market analysis  to nurture a vision for your product area, build a roadmap of deliverables and bring your long-term strategy to life
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse set of teammates and partners (internal and external to CZI)

You have

  • 5+ years of experience as a product manager
  • Exposure to the use of data and it’s analysis in products (Having done this in educational / K12 environments would be helpful but isn’t mandatory)
  • Ability to independently design, build, launch, and improve on compelling products and a well-developed execution muscle
  • Prioritized effectively across a diverse set of asks from multiple stakeholder constituencies, including external partner organizations
  • A track record of original and innovative thinking, and an appetite to learn
  • Effective communication skills across a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders
