About the Research Analyst at Headspace Health:

We’re looking for a Research Analyst to join our growing Science team and help Headspace Health deliver on our vision of a world where everyone is kind to their mind, by transforming mental healthcare to improve the health and happiness of the world.

The Research Analyst will have the unique opportunity to support a wide variety of projects for the Research team, across both the Headspace app and Ginger platform. These projects serve to evaluate the impact of Headspace Health services on both clinical and economic outcomes (often leading to peer reviewed manuscripts) and contribute to product innovation and quality improvement efforts. This is a highly quantitative role, and we are seeking someone who is excited to deepen the data-driven, evidence-based environment at Headspace Health.

This is an excellent position for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. You’ll work with talented individuals across many different functions (e.g., care team, product, marketing, data science), and leverage your data wrangling, analysis, and applied social scientist skill set to support cross-functional initiatives.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace Health:

  • Assist in data analysis as part of the ongoing research projects focused on both the legacy Ginger set of services and legacy Headspace app. Analyses will include observational, quasi-experimental, and RCT methods.
  • Conduct literature reviews in the area of mental health, digital health, and other related topics.
  • Build out and maintain data pipelines to support research efforts. This will entail coordinating with Data Science and Engineering teams to understand the variety of data sources at our disposal and synthesizing relevant data sources into a centralized data repository for research purposes. This will require creative solutions and systems-thinking, experience with SQL.
  • Assist in drafting project proposals, plans, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft study related documentation including protocols, analysis plans, and manuscripts.
  • Respond to relevant internal ad hoc research requests.
  • Support project and team coordination as needed.

What you’ve accomplished:

  • Bachelor's degree (at-minimum) in health related field or quantitative discipline.
  • At least two years in a full-time position supporting quantitative research and/or HEOR projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in R is required (experience with tidyverse is a plus). Experience with Python and Stata as well as Git is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong capability in inspecting, cleaning, merging, and transforming large and evolving data from technology-delivered products.
  • Experience managing structured and semi-structured quantitative data.
  • Experience with SQL and using SQL to extract data from industry analytics platforms (Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience interpreting and drawing insights from quantitative data, preferably as part of a social science research project.
  • Experience generating reproducible tables, figures and other data visualizations to summarize findings.
  • (Preferred, but not required) Advanced degree in public health, psychology, health economics or related quantitative field (MPH, MPP, MS).
  • (Preferred, but not required) Experience supporting the design and implementation of experimental research projects.
