ExploreLearning seeks an experienced Analytics Engineer to join a recently formed centralized data team. Our group's primary goal is to enhance organizational and operational efficiency by leveraging data. As a small team, we seek a well-rounded data professional with excellent technical, communication, and collaboration skills. The successful candidate can both build data models to support our core operations and work cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders to address their pain points with end-to-end data solutions.
This role has high visibility, reporting directly to the Head of Data and Analytics, who reports to the President. We focus on impact, not satisfying idle curiosities. You will partner with high-level personnel in other verticals to vastly improve the context for entire teams.
Job Responsibilities
Build and own optimal data pipelines delivering well-defined, tested, documented, and code-reviewed shared data sets to support analysis, reporting, and mathematical modeling
Proactively identify operational pain points and inefficiencies with cross-functional partners and develop new tools or automated process to solve them
Collaborate with key stakeholders across business verticals to build dashboards and other BI tooling that deliver insights and enable self-service
Curate data infrastructure to comply with data privacy, security, and governance requirements
Conduct root cause analysis
Create data dictionaries that promote shared understanding, accessibility, and operational efficiency
Build ingestion infrastructure using ETL/ELT tooling (e.g., Fivetran, Xplenty)
Job Requirements
3+ yrs. working as an Analytics Engineer, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer
Fluency in SQL
Proven background collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and implementing end-to-end data solutions that help them do their jobs
Experience building data models to be consumed by Analysts, Data Scientists, and BI technology (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Looker)
1+ yrs. working in a cloud data warehouse (Preferred: snowflake)
Understanding of data warehouse practices and concepts
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau, Hex, Mode, DeepNote, Domo, Data studio, and Looker
Solid command of DBT
Substantial experience working with Marketing (e.g., on data capture, opportunity attribution, and CAQ estimation)
Command of Airflow and Docker to build and orchestrate ingestion ETLs from scratch
Experience in a role regularly requiring ROI/Impact estimation
Substantial experience working with unstructured data or semi-structured data (JSON, XML)
Ability to analyze data using statistical methods, interprets results, and provide written and graphical summaries of data analyses
General purpose object-oriented programming skills (Python, C#, Java), beyond ETLs
