Job Overview

The Senior Data Management Analyst position combines the unique challenges of preparing student assessment results in data formats required by more than twenty state level clients, ensuring the data integrity and quality control of those results, adhering to single client delivery schedules, and preparing numerous stakeholder aggregate reports in accord with client specifications. The role provides a unique opportunity to meld technical skills (SAS and Python) with project management insight and Cambium-client partnership through meetings, presentations, data documentation and reporting specifications. The Senior Data Management Analyst will partner across technical, reporting, and project management teams at Cambium and shepherds clients’ knowledge of our work from the time a test is administered to a student until results at the single and aggregate level are available for student, parent, teacher and state level stakeholder review. The person fulfilling this role has responsibility for working with internal (CAI) and external (client specific) participants in the critical work of student assessment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops specifications for data layouts, including data capture and input;

  • Create, manage and maintain detailed data schedules to meet client-specific deliverables

  • Validates and monitors input to ensure consistency, quality, and integrity of data.

  • Troubleshoots and runs a variety of scheduled reports.

  • Provides technical assistance and training to staff personnel

  • Supervises or oversees the work of programming and/or staff and/or student employees.

  • Maintains knowledge with respect to relevant programming languages, systems, data environments.

  • Managing proper and up-to-date documentation on client deliverables, and organizational processes

  • Communicates excellently, both orally and in writing.

  • May conduct presentations.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years of data-relevant experience; including:

  • Experience in running large data sets exhibiting different scenarios and use cases

  • Ability to examine, interpret and organize large amounts of data

  • Resolving data input, storage and/or retrieval problems and to design solutions and modifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related field of study

  • Experience with SAS and Python

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to manage assigned staff

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Thorough knowledge of management and data administration duties such as collection, research, and distribution
