In this role, you will serve as a member of the data management team responsible for building a data platform to support Cohere Health’s downstream team to optimize patient care paths. You will make sure data in the data platform is validated, cleaned, and ready for any reporting and analytics work. You will work closely with the data analytics, clinical content, product, and software engineering teams to understand the business’s data needs, validate Extract, Transform, Load (“ETL”) summary reports, monitor data management jobs, and troubleshoot database architecture-related issues. Specific duties of the role include:

 

  • Working with business analysts to understand available data and monitor production jobs.
  • Ensuring data quality, including monitoring daily refresh data jobs from payers to Cohere Health’s software platform and from Cohere Health’s platform to the data platform.
  • Performing and reviewing quality checks on incoming, outgoing, and aggregated data to identify data anomalies.
  • Mapping and specifying target data requirements and associated data transformations and validations. 
  • Leveraging proficiency in PySpark, SQL, Python, Scala, AWS, and knowledge of EMR, Claims, and SDOH data to perform database architecture tasks.
  • Understanding Cohere Health’s products, services, and clinical programs and how the Company’s cross-functional collaboration and workflow support healthcare providers’ workflow and patients’ care journeys.
  • Working with end users to develop Quality Control metrics for data management.
  • Utilizing knowledge of STARs, HEDIS and other clinical and financial metrics in healthcare to perform the duties of the position.
  • Building automated end-to-end data pipelines in Airflow to ensure the availability and consistency of the data sources.
  • Tackle problems with creative and sustainable solutions to ensure scalability, code reusability, and resource efficiency.
  • Having the mindset of continuous optimization: there is always room for optimization and automation.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Position requires either (i) Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of professional data analyst experience; or (ii) Master’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and one (1) year of professional data analyst experience.
  • Must also have one (1) year of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:
    • EMR data, claims, and SDOH data;
    • Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) migrations;
    • PySpark, Scala, Spark, Python, and SQL;
    • AWS tools such as S3, Airflow, Athena, CloudWatch, ECR, and SageMaker;
    • Project management focused on data analysis or warehousing; and
    • Jira, Confluence, and GitHub

Note: This position has a hybrid schedule working from a home office and in the Company’s Boston office as needed.
