We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to be the 2nd analytics hire in the company with a high level of ownership in scaling data at Mothership. You will work cross-functionally with various stakeholders to empower teams with data and generate data-driven insights so teams can make informed decisions to improve the business. What you’ll get to do
- Drive the full cycle of analytics: requirement gathering, data collection, data modeling, visualization, analysis, and actionable insights
- Work with stakeholders across the company on all levels to define, measure, and optimize KPIs
- Design and implement performant, reusable, and scalable data models (SQL/dbt) to consolidate data sources and provide a singular source of truth for end users
- Champion data quality and create automated tests to improve auditing capabilities
- Reveal operational inefficiencies and uncover hidden problems beyond what is obvious
- Tackle exciting challenges related to Customer Acquisition, Retention, Churn, Sales Ops, Product Experimentation, LTV, and much more
- Form hypotheses, create meaningful metrics and build statistical models to drive business impact
What success looks like in this role
- 4+ years of Analytics Experience, preferably in a fast-paced growing company
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems or similar)
- Expert in SQL (Postgres, Redshift, Snowflake) to analyze and transform data
- Mastery of at least one BI tool (Looker, Tableau, Mode, or equivalent)
- Hands-on data modeling (Experience using dbt and Airflow preferred)
- Fluency with Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot tables, Vlookups, Sumifs, etc)
- Experience with cohort, funnel, and LTV analyses and A/B tests
- Ability to mentor and train future analysts and business partners
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and methodologies with stakeholders across the business and experience presenting to senior management
- Must be intellectually curious, proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with a scripting language (Python or R) and Machine Learning is a plus
