The Opportunity

The Senior Data Analyst Talent Development is responsible for the evaluation, data analysis functions for the team leading learning experiences for staff and faculty across the university. You will be a collaborative partner who supports the Talent Development team in providing data-informed learning products through ongoing needs analysis work and developing and measuring the impact of learning that creates organizational outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis of learning evaluation data including use, reaction, knowledge gain, behavior impact, and effect on Talent Development, People Team, and university measurements, and return-on-investment of learning experiences.
  • Tell a story through data to help "lay people" see both the forest and the trees - conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis and lead development of corresponding reports on important internal and business metrics as they relate to learning impact.
  • Lead the ongoing needs analysis work including strategy development, research method design, data collection, data analysis results to partners.
  • Consult and collaborate with Product leaders to ensure every product and product line have an impact focused evaluation strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Technology team, HRIS team, and other business analytics teams to inform holistic learning analytics strategy measures impact on outcomes.
  • Partner with other SNHU departments/teams to ensure baseline and follow-up data are available for return on investment (Return on investment) studies.
  • Consistently ensure Talent Development evaluation strategy aligns with internal team, People Team, and SNHU business goals and strategies.
  • Lead Learning Analytics sub-team.
  • Leads with curiosity – asks questions and seek to understand current state challenges and desired future state.
  • Coaches, teaches, and mentors members of the Learning Analytics team.
  • Drives direction, alignment, and commitment for Learning Analytics team.
  • Partner with other Talent Development team members on additional responsibilities.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and are essential functions of this role.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Years of experience: 5+ years' experience in analytics.
  • Degree(s): Bachelor's degree

Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable: Yes x No

  • Professional Certification(s): N/A
  • Strong background in data analysis/descriptive statistics.
  • Expert at using data to tell a story.
  • Strong coach and mentor.
  • Holds a systems view of organizations, able to see how the different parts combine to operationalize our mission.
  • Strategic thinker who can operate in ambiguous environments.
  • Exceptional collaborator and thought partner when developing solutions.
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics.
  • Experience leveraging data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Prism).
  • Understanding in designing experiments, testing, learning, and iterating.
  • Knowledge in leveraging data to inform business strategies and tactics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; can drive stakeholder conversations to align evaluation and analytics efforts to team and product line goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring successful execution.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses a mixture of subject matter expertise, humility, and kindness.
  • Exceptional organizational and creative problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience evaluating training and development in a medium to large organization.
  • Experience evaluating the impact of soft skills within a workplace.
  • Experience evaluating user experience data.
