The Opportunity

The Senior People Data Analyst develops and delivers analytical solutions in the form of reporting, dashboards, and data marts/models to support strategic projects and decisions and provides insights into the employee experience and performance. You will provide reporting solutions, respond to ad-hoc report requests across multiple teams, and participate in the design and development of business intelligence reporting tools. The Senior People Data Analyst understands market, business, and people drivers and uses these in collaboration with business leaders, management, and Business Analysts to provide optics that improve user and employee experience, track, and trend measurement metrics, increase productivity and efficiency, and identify best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute people analytics and information delivery strategies to lead informed, evidence-based decision making, decrease time to decision making, improve competitive positioning, improve user experience, increase productivity/efficiency, understand risks, and reduce costs.
  • Design, develop, and deliver automated versions of mission critical, drill through matrix reports, dashboards, and scorecards to provide business insights at all levels using knowledge of Workday (reporting, dashboards, and Prism), Microsoft SQL Stack (SQL, , PowerBI, VB) and other API technologies.
  • Use storytelling and visualization skills to develop and deliver insights that are clear, concise, and applicable.
  • Develop visualizations and dashboarding to communicate complex people data interpretations to Leadership and HR Partners.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand and define business rules and measurements (KPI) and develop strategy for a reporting matrix that supports business process/solutions.
  • Support HR and SNHU’s Employee Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion goals by providing reporting solutions, visualizations, and presentations and responding to ad-hoc report requests across multiple teams.
  • Architect and support complex analytical datasets that will be used by HR and Business Analysts to perform strategic analysis and provide data mining capability to deliver insights to our partners.
  • Collaborate with other analysts and the data warehouse team to ensure congruency of reporting, minimize duplication of effort, and identify limitations in data sources and data delivery options.
  • Provide both technical and analytics support in all areas of data retrieval and delivery, including data extraction from multiple different data sources, summarizing/aggregating data, requirements gathering, and development and deployment.
  • Follow best practices and security policies to manage and protect all people data. Understand levels of data confidentiality and work to protect against unauthorized people data access.
  • Analyze people data to test hypotheses, uncover variables that drive employee experience, and deliver insights to partners through compelling presentations.
  • Be a subject matter expert of data sources and architecture, and business rules and logic.
  • Promote communication and collaboration efforts between analytics team and departments cross-functionally to guide common goal achievement and meet organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Years of experience: Ten years of relevant experience
  • Degree(s): Bachelor's degree
  • Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
  • Professional Certification(s) N/A
  • Extensive knowledge in database structures, querying tools, and various data sources.
  • Advanced knowledge of data extraction from multiple different data sources (MS SQL/Oracle), summarizing/aggregating data, requirements gathering, and development and deployment.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with system analysis and data lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with report writing in HR information systems (e.g., Workday, Workforce Now, PeopleSoft)
  • Experience supporting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through data analytics and visualizations.
  • Understanding of people data security best practices.
  • Experience applying analytics to solve real life business problems.
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment managing varying expectations of clients.
  • Ability to design rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to business partners and leadership.
  • Strong presentations skills – ability to clearly communicate conclusions and recommendations with supporting data to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience in project management a must (defining goals, scope and timelines, analyzing/exploring data to distill insights, communicating results with rich visualizations).
  • Understand our needs and expectations with the ability to foresee future needs.
