As a growing company, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us build our data pipeline infrastructure across multiple cloud environments. You will report to our Director of Engineering and be a necessary member of an amazing team that is using the latest web and data technologies to develop the FHIR API standard to access patient electronic health record data for the digital healthcare industry.

You will:

• Build data pipelines and data lakes
• Work with the analytics team to build and implement deployment processes for both internal and external analytics software and products
• Set best practices related to Docker and Kubernetes use for the Data Analytics and Data Engineering groups
• Mentor junior engineers in relevant technologies/process development/deployment best practices
• Develop Cloud Agnostic approaches for deployments
• Work with a team to bring Patient healthcare data together to affect future health outcomes

We are looking for people who have:

• 4+ years of experience optimizing infrastructure for large streaming data pipelines
• Experience with big data tools: Databricks, Spark, Hadoop, Glue, Kinesis/Kafka, AWS Athena
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including Postgres and DynamoDB
• Experience with Docker containerization
• Experience in the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, Fargate)
• Proficient in a JVM language (Scala, Java, Kotlin) and Python
• Proficient in PySpark or Scala
• Analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• Familiarity with data science tools/notebooks: Jupyter Notebooks, Apache Zeppelin
