What You'll Do

• Construct data models via dbt in our Cloud Data Warehouse that allow for robust, secure, privacy-preserving analysis of call-quality, Machine Learning performance and construction of new training datasets
• Design and implement event-streaming and batch ELT data pipelines in GCP with appropriate performance and monitoring
• Work closely with other members of the Machine Learning and Core Platform teams to guide instrumentation and metadata collection of operational Machine Learning and Thinking Machine™ systems
• Create data tools, workflows and APIs for other technical teams to consume and interact with our data platform
• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Mentor Jr. Data Engineers

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role
• A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field or relevant experience
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP or Azure) and familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms (Bigquery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
• SQL knowledge that goes well beyond the basics of SELECT, WHERE and GROUP BY
• Experience with one-or-more object-oriented & functional scripting languages (including Python, Java or Javascript)
• Experience with streaming or microbatch analytics (Spark Streaming, Flink, Beam, etc.) and design methodologies of persistent event stores (AWS Kinesis, GCP PubSub, Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, etc.)
• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large datasets and a curiosity for exploratory data analysis
