  • The data scientists on the team  play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced analytical models and algorithms to solve complex problems across healthcare. They have a broad understanding of how to work with data at scale coupled with deep curiosity and a comfort of working through ambiguity.
  • Their work is pivotal to delivering on prototypes that can be validated in one or more of Komodo’s nascent market segments with the ultimate goal of growing Komodo’s market share.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Developed and deployed analytical solutions across different use cases to deliver on product incubation offerings.
  • Effectively partnered with Product Managers to reconcile product requirements with analytical techniques and good understanding of the healthcare datasets
  • Collaborated effectively with cross-functional teams to enable scalable prototyping, influencing data engineering and architectural decisions where needed.
  • Enable graduation of incubation prototypes to other teams with appropriate documentation and code reusability.
  • Established yourself as a trusted subject matter expert in data science within the organization.
  • Demonstrated continuous learning and growth, staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the field.

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Develop analytical outputs, including visualizations, that solve customer problems via Komodo’s platform
  • Contribute to a production codebase for SaaS products, following best engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers on design and implementation of solutions
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to uncover insights and develop hypotheses.
  • Build and validate analytical models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders through written reports and presentations.

What you bring to Komodo Health:

  • Fluency in analytical and modeling approaches that are effective in solving real-world problems in healthcare— analytical and statistical methods—and good judgment in choosing an appropriate level of complexity for the problem at hand.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with relevant libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Experience writing SQL queries, working with Relational Databases
  • Experience with efficiently computing large-scale healthcare data with best practices for collaborative software development.
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated by a good understanding of how analytics insights tie into business goals
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced and demanding agile environment

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Superset, Tableau, Power BI) for communicating insights effectively.
