As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be empowering Thrive’s cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, product managers, and stakeholders to leverage technology and data to make mission-critical decisions. You will be a foundational member of our team of data scientists, ML engineers, and data engineers and weave data-driven insights throughout Thrive’s product. You’ll define new metrics, develop and share key strategic insights, evaluate and oversee the efficacy of model outputs, and drive impact across the product team. 

This role is Remote and open to candidates in UTC+1 to UTC -5 

This role is open to Senior data scientists and above, Staff / Principal variants exist for the right candidates.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Develop a deep understanding of all the data relevant to the problem to be addressed. Establish deterministic and probabilistic linkages between data sources and develop ways to extract and summarize the sought information in the data using a wide variety of statistical, data mining and machine learning techniques.
  • Comprehend our available data, identify usable data, and propose data collections we should be thinking about..
  • Collaborate with product managers to drive strategy and execution to achieve product adoption objectives.
  • Help put in place the framework and mechanisms to share insights across the organization with the goal of keeping the customer at the center of everything we do and enabling faster, more informed decision-making.
  • Be a thought leader and go-to expert on data science and tooling.
  • Code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team.
  • Create prototypes of productizable ways to perform the analysis at scale, provide documentation and help educate your colleagues in different functions about the solution.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building systems in a data scientist role; experience within a start-up environment is preferred.
  • Technical skills R/Python and SQL, and experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Looker is a plus.
  • Strong domain knowledge of Bayesian modeling, causal inference, experimentation, and experimental methods.
  • Project management and prioritization experience, preferably with Data Engineering, Product Management, and Software Engineering teams.
  • Prior experience with fully integrating data science solutions into the business and operationalizing ML models with a consistent clear track record of delivery.

Compensation for this role depends on level, and will likely fall in the $120K-140K range. We provide a competitive mix of salary, performance bonus, and equity
