We’re looking for a Senior Product Director - Business Intelligence and Analytics

Built In is seeking a Senior Product Director - Business Intelligence and Analytics. This role will be responsible for leading Reporting, Analytics and Business Intelligence roadmap, and generating insights for internal and external customers to deliver commercial outcomes and competitive advantage to the company.

As a Senior Director of BI and Analytics, you will work very closely with senior leaders of Marketing, Finance, Sales, Operations, Growth, Product to understand their business needs and be a strategic partner in using data to help drive decisions. You will partner with internal leaders and stakeholders to create a compelling BI vision and an execution game plan to optimize our BI platform and reporting capabilities. You have experience managing a team of analysts and experience collaborating with engineers, data scientists, machine learning practitioners to deliver great products and solutions. You understand what drives BI teams and are excited about mentoring, coaching and growing the BI team of analysts. You are excited to promote an insights-driven data culture. The position reports to our VP of Product, Nagini Indugula.

How you’ll contribute

  • Craft a compelling BI vision by partnering with senior leaders across the organization, understanding their reporting needs and developing a business intelligence roadmap.  
  • Leading discovery of generating business value from data, creating dashboards, reports, translating the analytics into narrative insights and stories.  
  • Collaborate with key senior stakeholders across the organization to define key business questions and use cases, prioritize and plan work, and to execute into production and maintenance of relevant business intelligence output, dashboard and SaaS products
  • You will leverage your strong analytics skills to manage experiment design and measurement of various tests and experiments. 
  • Manage a team of professionals to manage the entire business intelligence development life cycle from concept through definition, development, QA and delivery. Be a coach and mentor leading career development, professional growth paths for the team members and building a highly inclusive culture where team members thrive.
  • Drive effective recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance management and retention of BI team members and take the BI function to the next level. 
  • Lead with innovation leveraging advances and developments in the data platform and advanced analytics industry, reporting tools to inform build decisions on core reporting capabilities.
  • Define OKRs for the BI team and drive the team towards meeting or achieving those OKRs. This includes being accountable for individual OKRs within the BI organization.
  • Identify new data sources that can be used to solve known business problems, and see those through to implementation.

What you need

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated quantitative and qualitative data and BI experience, with a strong understanding of data visualization and analytics tools
  • MarTech industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience leading a business intelligence function that has delivered strong value to the business
  • Proven experience with designing and delivering cross functional custom reporting solutions
  • Experience in experimentation methods, implementing good testing practices and are an expert at translating broad business questions into high-quality test designs. 
  • Experience with using Tableau, including SQL and writing complex queries preferred
  • Experience with R, SAS, or Python
  • Experience in Agile Development, principles and practices 
  • Ability to document detailed BI concepts in the context of user needs, business impacts, and technical requirements for data and analytics
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Not afraid to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn
