About the job

The successful candidate for this position will lead our team of exceptional data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts supporting Twilio’s Data & Growth Platform (including the Segment business) by providing insights to cross-functional partners to drive business results.

Our team serves as a key strategic thought partner to leaders across the organization. We use our depth of knowledge about our entire business to identify opportunities to improve how we operate and where we invest our resources.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead a few of the most impactful teams at Twilio where our world-class data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts solve some of our Data & Growth Platforms biggest challenges

  • Generate key insights by combining a deep qualitative understanding of our business with a quantitative approach backed by data

  • Develop a holistic view of the business to not only answer the important questions but also know which questions to ask

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to jointly uncover new insights about our business and drive operational changes based on those learnings

  • Create and maintain scalable data infrastructure to support our growing business and analytics needs

Required:

  • To comply with Executive Order 14042, all Twilio employees working in the U.S. are required to submit proof of vaccination for COVID-19 unless they qualify for a medical or religious accommodation / exemption.  Employees onboarded after January 4, 2022 must submit proof of vaccination or receive approval for an exemption prior to their Twilio start date. 

  • 6+ years of people management experience, including 2+ years managing people managers

  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to identify, research, and articulate recommendations for key strategic issues

  • Strong technical skills using analytics tools like SQL, Tableau, Looker, and Python

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in synthesizing and conveying business insights to executive audiences

  • Ability to partner well with cross-functional stakeholders to identify key business problems, develop support to perform joint research, and provide compelling and actionable recommendations

  • Experience working in the technology businesses

Desired:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Economics

  • Experience applying machine learning techniques

  • Knowledge of data infrastructure tools and best practices

  • Experience working in the B2B Saas space

Location 

This role location will be flexible depending on the candidate (remote based in the US or based in a US office)
