About The Team

The Analytics team is a distinct part of a broader organization (DASI) that includes Data Science and Consumer Insights. While belonging to a close-knit central team, each Life360 Analyst will partner with one or more teams within the company on a long-term basis, contributing as a thought leader, establishing domain expertise and developing cross-functional partnerships while collaborating to solve business problems with our comprehensive data sets.

About the Job

Life360 is looking for an accomplished leader with a strong background in Marketing Analytics to lead a team of analysts to drive business growth using data, insights, modeling and thought leadership. As a key partner with our Marketing teams, the successful candidate for this position will lead the creation and delivery of an impactful Marketing Analytics roadmap while managing a team of world class analytics and data professionals. This is an opportunity to help shape and drive the analytic agenda for a key driver for the company.  

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Director of Analytics, the Marketing Analytics Sr Manager will focus on the following key areas:

  • Lead a high-performance Marketing analytics team, taking responsibility for the team’s productivity, operational excellence and business impact.
    • Communicate the team’s work and directly partner with senior leaders in decision making.
    • Develop a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of Life360.
  • Prioritize and set the vision for your team’s roadmap, making tradeoffs based on business and resource constraints, timely deliverables and high-quality analyses.
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core products and services
  • Partner with Marketing, and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Drive data platform and engineering requirements, enabling instrumentation, Business Intelligence, and optimization of data pipelines and data structures
  • Build / maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products and business.
  • Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and strategic initiatives and campaign performance
  • Own the management of our marketing data event instrumentation, data dictionary and optimization of marketing analytics instrumentation.
  • Work directly with, manage, and mentor a team of high-performing data professionals in the creation and execution of an evolving analytic roadmap.
  • Generate a deep understanding of our user’s behaviors throughout many Life360 funnels and customer journeys, including: acquisition (website, paid marketing), activation (onboarding, feature lifecycle, smart notifications), conversion (key in-product funnels, external device sales), retention, and projected Lifetime Value (LTV). 
  • Identify new growth and experimentation opportunities in collaboration with Marketing managers. 
  • Work with your team to design and drive ongoing Marketing KPI, model and dashboard developments to both optimize marketing spend and determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. 
  • Partner with Data Engineering to deliver reliable insights and reporting capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • BS/MS in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Quantitative and/or Growth Analytics for digital, mobile, or tech companies with a B2C focus and a strong emphasis on quantitative Marketing strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing other team members in a formal or informal capacity.
  • A technical player / coach that participates in rolling up your sleeves to get hands-on if / when necessary.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing in a cloud based environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing SQL to extract information and insight from a wide variety of large data sets. 
    • Presto experience is a plus!
    • Additional experience in at least one quantitative scripting language (Python, R) is preferred, along with spreadsheet familiarity (Google Sheets, Excel, Pandas).
  • Proven experience in delivering interactive data and business-intelligence artifacts and visualizations (Quicksight, Tableau, Mode, Qlick, Looker, or equivalent).
    • Experience with Amplitude is a plus.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate in cross-functional capacity with leaders in marketing, product, marketing, finance, analytics and engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in e2e program and project delivery, involving translation of strategic business and marketing questions into a successful data and analytics roadmap items.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
