As a Senior Product Analyst, you will play a pivotal part in HackerRank’s mission to “Accelerate the World’s Innovation”. The Product Analyst will augment our current data engineering and analyst skills. The Product Analyst will work closely with the PMs to build dashboards that provide important metrics, and ensure we have the best insights in the tool to let everyone know the value of our product. You will also tackle ad-hoc investigations such as diving into user activity data to understand what changes we should make to increase conversions, adoption, retention, engagement, and/or monetization.

What you'll be working on:

  • Own the ideation, development, and maintenance of new and ongoing metrics, reports, and dashboards to support business needs
  • Identify opportunities in data to accelerate product adoption, retention, engagement, and/or monetization
  • Help design, execute and evaluate A/B tests to improve the user journey
  • Explore large, complex, and loosely defined datasets to create actionable insights
  • Explain trends across data sources, potential opportunities for growth or improvement, and data caveats for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive (including forecasting), and prescriptive data projects
  • Own and develop queries and visualizations for ad-doc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects
  • Enable decision making by deriving product and business insights from data analysis and assessment of key drivers for KPIs
  • Empower and guide others to work effectively and efficiently to create a data-informed culture
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members such as product managers, engineering, design, marketing, sales as well as with core data team members such as DA and data engineers

We are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a business intelligence analyst, data analyst, or product analyst with a proven record of impacting business
  • 2+ years of experience focused on feature and usage metrics, A/B testing, conversion and retention, segmentation, and developing user personas and their usage patterns
  • Proficiency in SQL is essential; Working knowledge of Python or/and R
  • Advanced BI dashboard development (We use Looker & Tableau)
  • Deep understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis
  • Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution
  • You are a team player: Assertive working with multiple teams across different locations
  • You take the initiative: Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects at the same time
  • You are a strong communicator: Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You are a critical thinker: Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with an affinity for numbers
