The Prime Video team is shaping the future of digital video entertainment and we are looking for entrepreneurial individuals to join us in innovating the viewing experience. We are a team focused on creating advanced AI solutions utilizing computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) technologies to invent exciting new customer experiences.
Key job responsibilities
· Design and deliver big data architectures for experimental and production consumption between scientists and software engineering
· Develop the end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making datasets readily-consumable by visualization tools and notification systems.
· Create automated alarming and dashboards to monitor data integrity.
· Create and manage capacity and performance plans.
· Act as the subject matter expert for the data structure and usage.
A day in the life
In this role, you will be at the center of the CV/ML transformation, joining our team in its Day 1 mission to drive industry resolution and develop technology solutions from scratch. As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will work closely with research scientists and engineers to develop solutions that have never been developed before, and also drive customer value while having fun. This includes developing and managing the data flow of information from ML output, through to personalization algorithms, data warehouses, and finally to the customer CX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
· Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
· Experience in SQL
· 3+ years of experience in the field of data engineering
· Expertise in the design, creation and management of large datasets/data models.
· Ability to write high quality, maintainable, and robust code, often in SQL, Scala and Python.
· Demonstrated strength in data modeling - understanding of 3NF, Star schema, etc.
· Experience/Exposure using big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Spark, EMR, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Passion for Entertainment
· Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or a related discipline
· Experience with Amazon Redshift
· Experience in scripting languages
· Experience working with business owners to define key business requirements and convert to technical specification
· Experience handling Big data volumes and performance tuning
· Familiarity with solutions such as AWS, EC2, S3, or DynamoDB
· Experience working in a UNIX/LINUX environment
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
